In the wheat production competition 2025-26 organized by the Punjab government, farmers using green nitrophos and calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) bagged the first three positions at the provincial level and 119 out of 120 positions at the district level. Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain participated online in the ceremony while Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Mr. Iftikhar Ali Sahu, Secretary Agriculture Punjab, Mr. Shakeel Ahmed Mian and President of Pakistan Kisan Etihad, Mr. Khalid Khokharsmeet, other dignitaries were present in the ceremony. Farmers using greens bagged the first position in 39 out of 40 districts, while bagging all three positions at the provincial level as well. Mr. Sajjad Hussain from Muzaffargarh secured the first provincial position with a yield of 69 maunds and 39. 4 kg per acre. Mr. Shafiq Ahmed of Attock got the second position with 69 manas and 39. 1 kg production per acre, while Mr. Muhammad Asghar of Rahimyar Khan got the third position with 69 manas and 24. 1 kg production per acre. During the ceremony, the three successful farmers at the provincial level were awarded with tractors, while the farmers who secured positions at the district level were awarded with Honda CD70 motorcycles and LED-TVs.
