The grand finale of AI Hackathon Pakistan 2026, organized in partnership with Alibaba Cloud and Al Khidmat Foundation Pakistan to connect youth talent in the field of artificial intelligence in Pakistan with global technology opportunities, was held at the Pakistan China Friendship Center Islamabad. Billed as the country's largest AI hackathon, youth across the country came up with innovative solutions to problems in health, education, agriculture and other sectors through artificial intelligence-based projects. More than 16,000 AI projects from across the country were submitted for the hackathon, out of which 300 teams reached the national final after preliminary selection and regional competitions in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. A total prize package of USD 60,000 was allocated, which included USD 30,000 in cash prizes and USD 30,000 in Alibaba Cloud Credits. In the competition, Salix won the first prize of 7 thousand US dollars, while the second and third place teams and the runners-up of six different categories were also given prizes. The competition focused on six sectors including health, financial inclusion, education, smart agriculture, open innovation and Urdu and regional languages. The purpose of the hackathon was to provide opportunities for youth to develop their own products and viable technology solutions, rather than restricting them to the mere use of artificial intelligence. In this regard, the participants were also given training, guidance and access to advanced digital tools.
